A few days ago I posted this photo on my Instagram (username: sonjiacalit) that had the caption”This is loaded!”

These scripture verses are taken from 1Peter 1:6-7. I say it’s loaded because though it’s only two verses long, it carries so much truth to it and here are four reasons why:

1) It’s Biblical. ALL of God’s Word is true. That is the foundation I’m laying down here and if you don’t believe that, you can stop reading now.

2) We WILL suffer grief from all kinds of trials, and we will rejoice because all that is temporary.

3) Our faith, no matter how strong perishes! Even though it’s refined by fire, like gold, over and over and over. Scary if you think about it. No matter how strong of a Christian you are, you are NEVER above the fall. But God says that our faith is more important, more precious than gold. It is why we have to go through “grief in all kinds of trials.”

4) Trials are the way our faith may be proved genuine. Genuine faith results in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. And you know what, it is IN those trials Jesus Christ is revealed more in our lives. Because if we have genuine faith, we will see He is there in EVERY trial, going through it with us, and fighting FOR us.

I am in no way an expert in Theology, but of this I am sure: God LOVES you. If you’re going through grief in a trial, I pray that God opens your eyes to SEE Him fighting for you to bring you to victory. I pray He opens your ears to HEAR Him say, “I love you, and I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you. I am FOR you and NOT against you.” Lastly, I pray that He opens your heart to UNDERSTAND that He has been trying to reveal to you Who He is this whole time. Maybe it’s time to respond to that call, and finally let Him have His way in your life 🙂
