My good friend and mentor told me this a few years ago. “Sometimes we need to ‘put things on the shelf’ for a while. And sometimes we just need to give it up for good and let the Lord’s sovereign hand bring it back in his timing.”
It’s a beautiful thing when we really surrender something to the Lord and have His hand move in our circumstances. Sometimes the thing we think we’ve “put back on the shelf” forever comes back as a big surprise that is 10x better than what it was 🙂 And then sometimes, God just brings something completely new, which is so much better than what we “put back on the shelf.”
What is it that God wants you to surrender? Are you willing to put it back on the shelf for good and have God have His way?
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29-30 ESV)
This applies in so many ways, it’s much like sleeping on a problem and waking with the answer. It kind of supports the idea that all things come to those who wait.
Or on a more philosophical math level: infinite time = infinite possibility
“all things come to those who wait.” YES!!! 🙂
